Monfakira
is a group of cultural activists who has stepped
in the field of publishing for serious people
who are in search of materials rich in visual
and literary contents.
So
the subjects are varied and the presentations are non-academic, rather experimental.
In fact, Monfakira is not a publisher
in traditional sense, rather the terms initiator,
communicator or activator may be more applicable
to them. |

Monfakira prints those important and invaluable
works that are neglected or forgotten, unpublished
or uncollected - be it of a person or a group, of
a community or an association.
In that case Monfakira has no inhibitions
or dogmas and is not bound by any time-space limitations.
After the selection and editing of materials are
done, next follows the designing part. The entire
production part is done under the supervision of
in house mechanism. The post production jobs are
regulated by marketing and distribution, which are
also self mechanised.
In all these activities readers are the main sources
of inspiration of Monfakira. They support
and help Monfakira to sustain and grow. Monfakira
also supports and helps them to sustain their cultural
activities. And often this reciprocation leads to
a healthy collectivity, which incidentally helps
the joint projects to be possible.
One may call it a
movement and Monfakira is proud to be a part of this movement.
Since 2005 Monfakira has published and distributed
about 115 titles, jointly or solely.
Till date the number of registered readers of Monfakira
has crossed 250 (See Co-reader
Scheme) and they are spread all over India and
abroad. Some of them have become co-publisher (See
Co-publisher
Scheme) also.
